you don’t need more regulation strategies.
you need a toolbox that you understand and your kid can actually recall.
let’s learn regulation together
if you’re wondering how to teach your kid regulation, this is a place you can start
A 5-month community to help you understand regulation, teach it to your kid in a way they can actually recall, and practice it for yourself, with support all along the way.
you want to teach your kid regulation…
but have no idea where to start
Maybe you've learned a few (or a few hundred) strategies.
Maybe you've heard all about co-regulation (or how “you just need to stay calm” 🙄).
Maybe you've saved the posts, bought the books, and tried the breathing exercises.
let’s be real… you have all the info, your kid can probably even rattle off a million regulation strategies, but none of it seems to stick when they actually need it.
that's what The Regulation Lab is here for
not to give you another list of things to do when your kid is melting down
to help you understand regulation from the ground up… to learn it and to live it so that it actually sticks
build your regulation toolbox
✳
-
Learn what regulation actually is…
regulation, self-regulation, co-regulation.
the neuroscience, the nervous system.
think of this as the foundation for all that follows.
INSIDE THE LAB:
Regulation Foundations (pre-recorded lessons)
Monthly workshops/trainings (live calls)
Community discussion (discussion boards)
✳
-
Move beyond constantly telling them what to do or trying to get them to use a specific strategy in the moment.
Learn how to teach regulation that actually sticks. That doesn’t go right out the window the moment they need it.
INSIDE THE LAB:
Play Lab (pre-recorded lessons & live calls)
Regulation Foundations (pre-recorded lessons)
Live group coaching calls/office hours
Learn to create opportunities for them to practice regulation, to build those skills over time, and feel confident supporting them when they’re struggling.

“how do i teach my kid regulation when i was never taught this myself?” is a common question I receive.
So, let’s change that!
You’ll have opportunities to explore and understand your own regulation, build your own toolbox, and practice right alongside your kid.
INSIDE THE LAB:
Adult regulation practices (think yoga, mindfulness, monthly “try this” invitations)
Live workshops and group coaching
Community discussion
and you won’t be doing this alone…
the regulation lab isn't just a collection of lessons to work through and forget about.
In this 5 month cohort, you will have access to:
pre-recorded lessons for self-paced learning
monthly live coaching calls/office hours
monthly opportunities to support/experience your own regulation (think yoga, meditation, etc)
guest experts
community discussion boards
social events to build your community of like-minded peers
all so that you can keep learning, practicing, asking questions, making space for yourself, and getting support as real-life regulation keeps... well… happening.
regulation is a lifelong practice
not something you check off your list
The Regulation Lab is a dedicated season for you to learn, practice, ask questions, try things out, get feedback, and create space for yourself while doing so.
And because you’ll be moving through it in a cohort of peers, you won’t be doing it on your own. You’ll have a community to ask questions of, share experiences with and a space to grow together.
whether life has life’d and you need to learn something new or you simply need to make some space for you.
The Regulation Lab is for you if…
You want to work on your own regulation and/or you want to support your kid in their regulation.
You want to teach your kid regulation, but you're not exactly sure where to start (and telling them what to do hasn’t been cutting it… and speaking of that 👇).
You keep telling your kid the same thing over and over and over again. And they’re starting to feel down on themselves because when regulated, they know they “should” be doing it differently, but when dysregulated, it happens again.
You find yourself thinking, “I know what I’m supposed to do… but how do I actually do it when things escalate?”
You’ve learned some generic regulation strategies, but they don’t seem to work for you (or your kid). (pssst. regulation is personal)
your kid can rattle off a million strategies but seems to forget them all in the moment (and maybe it’s the same for you…)
You want to better understand your own regulation, too… not because you need to be perfectly regulated, but because you’re a human with a nervous system who's doing this alongside your kid (and staying regulated as a parent can be HARD)
You want a place to learn, ask questions, practice, and connect with other parents who are working on this, too.
You don't need to already know how to do this.
That’s what the regulation lab is here for. 🤷♂️
doors open soon
the first ever cohort will begin January 2027
because this is the first time I’m opening The Regulation Lab, the founding cohort will be offered at my lowest introductory rate.
founding cohort
$297
You'll get the full Regulation Lab 5-month experience:
the community, pre-recorded lessons, live trainings, office hours, adult regulation practices, guest experts, and ongoing support throughout the entirety of the cohort.
Hey, I’m Hayden 👋
I’m a dad of 3 littles and I’ve spent the last 8 years working with kids and families around big emotions, meltdowns, and regulation.
and I’m here to tell you that kids aren't supposed to figure out regulation on their own.
and neither are their parents.
One of my favorite parts of my work is helping adults better understand how to support their kids’ regulation and how to build regulation skills that actually stick.
And the thing is… this isn’t about telling you as the adult what to say or do.
It starts with understanding regulation for yourself, too.
That's why I created The Regulation Lab: a place where we can learn about regulation, practice it, and figure out how to bring it into the very real, very messy lives we're living as parents.
Course FAQ
-
Nope. The Regulation Toolbox is an educational and coaching-based program. It isn't individual therapy or a substitute for mental health treatment.
-
No way. The Lab is about your regulation, too.
Does that mean it’s just for you and not your kid then?
Again, no way.
The intention is to support you so you can better support your kid… while giving you the information, understanding, and tools you need to help them build regulation skills of their own
-
The Regulation Lab will only run at certain times, and as such, you can only join at certain times. The first cohort is tentatively planned to begin in early to mid-January 2027.
-
The cohort model will run 5 months. During this time, you will have access to all components.
Upon completion of the cohort dates, you will continue to have access to the recorded aspects only.
-
This particular cohort is designed for parents. So if you are also a parent, yes, I’d love to have you join!
If you are a therapist who is not a parent, or would rather join a cohort of other therapists, send me an email (lowtidecoaching@gmail.com). If there is enough interest, we will create a therapist cohort of The Regulation Lab!
